A building inside this line can have a different catchment school or a different marketing name.

The City plans Metrotown for higher-density housing in an urban setting. In a real search, that usually means a strata apartment in a mid-rise or a tower. Townhouses appear less often. A detached house is the exception, and only where that house still stands inside the plan area. Read the form on the listing itself. This paragraph is not a count of buildings.
The decision sits in the building. Parking, storage, and a locker are assignments on the strata plan, not details a photo can settle. An older building and a newer tower raise different document questions. Age on its own is not a verdict.

Metrotown is Burnaby’s regional city centre and downtown, serving the southwest quadrant. It is the largest of the four town centres. Brentwood, Lougheed, and Edmonds are the municipal town centres. That distinction is the City’s, on the town-centres page.
The community plans page holds the Metrotown Downtown Plan, the community plan, and the land-use map. Burnaby adopted the Burnaby 2050 Official Community Plan on December 9, 2025.
